Experience Rüdlingen and Buchberg
Regionaler Naturpark Schaffhausen - As the long-standing editor of the newsletter, journalist Karin Lüthi-Graf has acquired a wealth of knowledge about Buchberg and Rüdlingen. She now passes on this knowledge in the form of exciting guided tours.
Two different guided tours give you the opportunity to learn more about the rich history and the ever-changing ownership of these villages over the centuries. On offer is a guided tour along the historical buildings on the village street of Buchberg and a guided tour in and around the church of Buchberg-Rüdlingen. Immerse yourself in the lively past of rural life during the one-hour guided tours!
Guided tour 1: Immerse yourself in the history of everyday life
Traces of settlement have been found in Buchberg since Roman times. But it was not until 1123 that the Schaffhausen village under the Hurbig was first brought into the light of history. How has history and the development of technology been reflected here? And last but not least: How did people defend themselves against the misfortunes that befell the village?
Guided tour 2: Former pilgrims, today's wedding guests
Pilgrims often passed through here on their way from southern Germany to Einsiedeln. It was not until 1850 that a new church was built. The villages and the church often changed hands. Death was a much more direct threat to the lives of the villagers and the parish priest kept a record of the arrivals and departures of the living. The ups and downs of church history are the subject of a one-hour guided tour.
